Bad Blogger

I know I have been really bad about blogging. Today I updated my blog, so the last 5 or 6 posts are all updates about what I did this summer. Read on. :)

JONAS BROTHERS

That's right! The Jonas Brothers are back together after 3 years. Not going to see them in concert wasn't even an option. Although, Faith and Cheryl felt that way. Haha! I got my cousin Ashley to tag along with me to the Jonas Brothers concert. Words cannot describe how amazing it was. At the beginning just Nick came on to the stage, so I'm watching the stage intently for the next brother to come out, and then there came this spotlight only a few feet away from me and I look and...JOE FREAKING JONAS is right there...he was like 3 feet away from my hand! And they sang some new songs for us and did remixes to some of their old songs. O-MAZING! And it was such a fun night.

Olan Rogers

I MET OLAN ROGERS! That's right folks. I waited in like for 3 1/2 hours just to get a hug from Olan! I pretty much love him. Thanks to Sarah, Haeley, and Faith for indulging me and allowing me to wait in line.

This is a video I got for my cousin Kimi because she absolutely LOVES him!

Hair

I got pretty frustrated with my hair this summer so I chopped it all off. It's a fun change and I can do some crazy things with it.

I don't actually wear it like this in public...

Family Reunion

We actually participated in the Mclaws family reunion this year. Mom said she wouldn't go unless we were all awesome. So, that's what we were. We were absolutely awesome. We bought kilts for everyone and showed up in Scottish Style. It was a blast. Mom, Faith, JR, and I did a special musical number and then we were asked to do an encore the next day. We sang our song again and then JR and I played Danny Boy on our guitar and ukulele. Steven hurt his foot on the stilts, but luckily it is healing well. Kristen and baby Megan weren't able to join us this time but hopefully they will be with us next year. It was great to spend time with family.
We were all showing of our "Man Shorts"

I don't know who the heck that weird kid is next to Faith...

We play a mean game of horseshoes!

Youth Conference

Youth Conference was AMAZING! we were asked to go to youth conference with a question in mind, and I decided that my question was going to be about whether or not I should serve a mission, and why I should serve a mission. The first night my question was answered. We were meeting at our Mission Presidents house and he told us that the only reason he was still active in the church and that he got married in the temple was because the girl he was dating right before his mission told him that she wouldn't marry him unless he was a return missionary. He looked at all the girls and told us that, that is what we need to expect from the person we want to marry. Then he looked at all the boy and he said the exact same thing. That hit me really hard. That, I want someone to expect me to go on a mission so that not only can he be an example to our children but so can I. Then my Mission President looked at each of us and said, "There is no reason not to." That also hit me really hard. And it's so true. The Lord needs us all on His side. And I really want to be able to be an example to my daughters, that they should serve a mission. So, I guess I got my answer. It was an amazing experience and it taught me a lot about being a missionary. I don't know everything, and I know it's going to be really, REALLY hard but at least I'm that much further along.

Here's before and after of a really fun mud fight we had:

Ryan

Ryan and I have decided to stop talking to each other. It probably sounds really childish to most people. Some things were said and I know both of us probably have hurt feelings. And I'm really sorry that our friendship had to end in the way it did. I think it's what's best for both of us because we will be able to become friends with other people and learn to live our lives without each other. At first I was really hurt and upset that our friendship ended, but I think I have been happier and I've had a little bit more freedom. I am sorry that it had to end, but it is what it is. Best of luck in life, Ryan.
