The Babysitting Diaries

Recently I have scored 2 regular nanny jobs for some families in my ward. One of the little girls I babysit, Savannah, asked me how many brothers and sisters I have, so I told her I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Later that week her mom was taking me home and she told me that Savannah keeps telling her that she wants 2 sisters and one more brother so she can be like me. Later Savannah was telling me that next she was going to get another brother and they were going to name him Tarzan or Georgie. Can you say RANDOM???

This other little girl that I babysit isn't even 3 yet and she is the smartest little kid I have ever met. She knows the entire alphabet, she knows every animal, every color, every shape, and can count up to 17 by herself! She calls me Jewy, and I just think she is so cute. So, the other day I'm babysitting her and she kept telling me over and over again "Jewy I'm so glad your here!" except add in some gibberish. Later she noticed my earrings and she said "I love your earrings, your SO beautiful." I laugh every time I think of it. They're such cute kids, and I'm getting money for my car. Yay!

"So You Think You Are German?"

Tonight Dad, Faith, and I went to a Family History and Indexing meeting at the church. They had a speaker there who kind of went through the Family History website. One of the slides he showed on his slide show had a list of topics that would be good to discuss with groups of people. Number 19 on the list said "So you think you are German?". Faith pointed it out to me and I tried to hold in my laughter, but it didn't work so well.

Today I did my hair uber cute. I twisted it around a headband and it look like it was french braided around my head. So, Mom, Dad, Faith, and I are about to read scriptures and I decide to take out the headband and bobby pins out of my hair...this is what I looked like after:

My crazy faces just make the hair look so much better :)

Saturday Night

So last night mom and dad went to a wedding so Faith and I were home alone. We decided to play Risk, which actually isn't that fun of a game with only 2 people. I won though!

Then we decided to watch Phantom of the Opera, which is one of the best movies...EVER!

And might I just say that Raul is mighty fine! :)

As the night progressed mom and dad came home. We were reading our scriptures when mom got a text on her phone at 10 o'clock at night asking if she could sub for a primary class.
Mom's reply: "Wow, this is really late notice. I would need more time to prepare. Sorry!
Dad replying as if he were mom: "I would need 7 weeks preparation time, a laminator, and 4 reams of paper"
We all thought is was funny and I thought I would blog about it, so I did.

A Mask and A Dessert

I was going to go to a masquerade ball tomorrow night but I decided not to go. I had already bought a mask, and even though I still have the receipt and tag, I decided to keep it because I think it is so pretty, and I'm sure I can find some use for it in the future.

Last night Mom, Faith, and I were watching chopped, which is this show that we are all obsessed with. They were making desserts and Faith and I started to get really hungry, so...I made this:

A deep fried biscuit topped with homemade
whipped cream and a raspberry sauce.

In the words of Barbara, "It was super way deyicious!"

Dress Up

A while ago Barbara and John were over at our house and we decided to get out the dress up stuff. Here are some fun pictures I took.

Barbara is just so cute!

I think my dad should dress like this everyday.

In our ward we have themes for every month. This months theme is prayer, and I found this poem that I thought you should all read.

No Time

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.

All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.

I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.

For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.

God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"
